French Sidewalk Café: I love the food here, but I have to admit that I go there often because it is the closest market to my house. All my out of town guests love to go there in the morning to get coffee (since I don't have any), and I highly recommend their Roquefort cheese and duck mousse. Once I ordered a quarter pound of Roquefort and a baguette, and they asked me, "Is this for here or to go?" It was not my idea of lunch, but it made me think. The service reminds me of the defunct Van Gogh's Ear - it's that ditzy - but it's such a pleasant place that I don't mind.
great cafe and grocery: i love dining here for breakfast and lunch. the chocolate croissants are great - if there are any left in the self-serve patisserie counter. the servings are generous for both breakfast and lunch. i have had the le cheval, quiche, frech onion soup, croque monsieur and several other sandwiches and i have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness. the grocery also offers great cheeses, pate, and cornichons which i have brought home for party appetizers. the only downside are the flies that hover over your food at the patio outside.
Relaxing, Euro atmosphere: Great outdoor area - dogs welcome. Fresh tasy french lunchtime cuisine - lots of tarts and baguettes. The Croque Monsieur is the best in town.
