    Hi,
I want to say that pets of whilshire is a wonderful store. The owner is very caring and the store is always clean. The animlas always have clean cages and fresh food and water.
I bought my first Aussi from Pets of Whilshire and it was such a positive experience, I now have 2 more. The puppy we bought was not from a puppy mill but from a home that could not have the pups because of an illness in the family. The owner took all pups and they all got great homes!
I also have reptiles from them that have been very healthy and my kids are thrilled. I drive 1 hour from home even though I have 4 stores in the area. That says alot. The stores in my area buy puppies out of state and the stores are not as clean and knowlegable as Pets of Whilshire.
Please check out the store yourself before making a decision because of reviews. You will be pleasantly surprised.

The people who own and operate the shop may be nice. Their puppies are cute but here's the cold facts I learned with a little bit of internet sleuthing.
The hybrid pups they currently have from Bloomington CA are from two "breeders" that also sell on-line and in local websites. They also have listings in Arizona so I'm not really sure where the puppies are raised. They have many, different hybrid toys. Most definitely are a puppy mill because they won't allow buyers to see the breeding dogs or the puppies with their mothers. A big warning sign that these dogs are raised in unpleasant conditions or perhaps out of state. I know these are the same puppies as Pets of Wishire are selling because they have the same photos (ie back ground ) of them on their for sale adds as Pets of Wilshire. But get this they are selling cookapoos for $250-$510
and the same dogs are listed (again same photos) for $1,400. at Pets of Wilshire. Now lets talk about the French Bull Dog pups one of which (the fawn) looks very sick at Wilshire Pets. I managed to track down that "breeder" too and found photos on her web site for English and French Bull dogs that again were the same photos with the same flowered background as the ones on Pets of Wilshire's site. Now she has a ton of puppies for sale but no mention of their parents or photos of their parents. That is probably because she is getting crates of puppies shipped from a foreign country. According to the ASPCA web site. She's probably buying her pups for around $600 each (bull dogs must be born cesarean) on her web site the pups from Pets on Wilshire's litters were listed for $1,200-1,4000. Pets on Wishire has priced them at $3,000 each. These two Frenchies are truely a sad little pair. I work near this pet store. I'm a documentary film maker. On my lunch hour I often visit these little guys thats why I wanted to learn more about their stories. They are so cute so friendly and their story is indeed a very sad one. Do not buy animals from this pet store or any for that matter. It encourages a despicable industry.

I purchased a beautiful Shi tzu who was there for about 8 months. The owner is a lovely woman; her husband was an employee of the L.A. Zoo. They are wonderful with birds and hand feed them. They sell the finiest bird food that I could not find in any of the major pet stores. My puppy, Sasha is doing fine; he is intelligent, and a rare type of Shi tzu, called a "Blue" Shi tzu They gave me a free coupon to visit the pet hospital to get a thorough examination of Sasha,VCA, in Santa Monica. I highly recommend this pet store if you have birds and reptiles; I wasn't shopping to purchase a puppy, but when I saw him and realized that it may be difficult for him to find a home at 8 months, I decided to buy him. Their products are excellent and the people who work in the store are knowledgable and trustworthy.

I purchase a puppy from them. But not all they're puppys are akc registered like they say on there website.I learn that after I sign the paper work. And after taking her home I also realized her shots wernt up to date. She caught parvo a died two weeks later. 1400 for a puppy 900 in vet bills... Go to breeder or look in the classifieds you probably save more...
