Wow! Torrance of Toyota employs uninformed salespeople...at the end of the day, they are nothing more than a bunch of crooks! John Dalpe, one of the managers, has got to be "the" RUDEST "so called" professionals that I have ever encounted! I would highly suggest to anyone shopping for a Toyota to stay far far away AND I MEAN FAR,from this dealership. Toyota's are great cars, however, if you want to deal with true professionals and are in the South Bay area, John Elway Toyota in Manhattan Beach rocks!!!
Wow, things haven't changed since the last reviewer reviewed this horrible, horrible place.
After negotiating a price for the vehicle, they said we couldn't have the car at that price unless we signed up for extra warranty and extra insurance. We said we have our own insurance and that we trust the 3-year Toyota warranty, so no thanks, we don't need any extras. The cost of these mandatory extras exceeded $4,000. That brought the car price up to more than the sticker price.
I would highly recommend bypassing this place. I haven't heard or read anything good about this place -- and no wonder!
[BAD] The typical car salesmen.: Everything went well.
Until they high-balled us with their initial offer.
We immediately declined.
Stated we were there to just 'look around' (which we were).
The salesman said he understood and went to get us a brochure.
Instead of the salesman returning a manager sat down.
For the next 20 minutes this wiseguy tried to lecture us on why we NEEDED a car today.
We should have left as soon as he sat down. However, it was a lazy afternoon so I indulged his attempt to engage me in a very heated exchange. No attempt at salesmanship. This was straight out ego on his part.
In all fairness he was probably trying to show his new (and very green) sales staff how to handle situations. The fact that I knew more about their products and services available did not instill confidence in their knowledge and/or experience (they did not know/acknowledge common complaints, on going investigations, or TSB's for their products).
Go if you know your 'stuff

I would like to know if you bought a toyota? and if you were so much more experienced than the salesman why didn't you simply take over and negociate your deal. The reason they have green salepersons at any dealership is that people don't pay. If you buy a car at below invoice price, how much do you think that salesperson made? $20 at most dealers, and at most $50, and he/she spent 4 to 6 hours with you that day just to answer your every question, make sure your happy paying less than the dealers invoice, I am sure you make $50 an hour, but don't think about the person in front of you. I sold every customer that came on the lot, that told me " We are just looking" and each of them still call me from time to time.
LOL. Wow, really? Get a life and learn how to write properly.
