User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been to Ashoka a handful of times before I have even signed up for Yelp and this place definitely kicks the image of a crappy indian buffet out of the way! All of their food during buffet hours stay hot and warm, and Na'an is always freshly prepared. I have yet to find another restaurant that serves goat curry. This place also prepares a very tasty blend of spices in their curry chicken as well. I highly recommend going here if you are trying out Indian food for the first time and you looking to sample a little bit of everything.
The prices are extremely reasonable. I believe the Lunch buffet is $7.99 the last time I went. Drinks are extra. They also have a separate menu for individual plates if you are not interested in the buffet.
The customer service is definitely very friendly. Extremely fast service! I remember the manager even came out to help me take a picture in the restaurant because I liked some of the interior design they had. They are very friendly and kind to the customers. I highly recommend this place for all of your traditional Indian cravings.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe had the lunch buffet at Ashoka. The food and service were very good and the price was fairly cheap compared to other buffet places we've been to. The mango drink was great and the ice cream was delicious. Well worth our trip from Bakersfield. We will return to Ashoka next time we visit Artesia for spice and ethnic grocery shopping!

Had dinner here Sunday (7/20/08) around 6 pm; let me say it was the best Indian meal I"ve had in 10 years, the soup, pappadam, chana masala, basmati rice, all superior; service was excellent, and the price-$12.75 for the works (I gave them $20 and told them to keep the cahnge, the food was just too good to be only $12!!)
Will be going back on a regular basis. I highly recommend this fine Indian establishment.
