Love Captain Jacks! Food is excellent and the service has always been exceptional. Been there 20 times and never dissapointed.
The food was really expensive $150 for two people. Don't get me wrong though: The food was AWESOME. I wouldn't do on a first date. I would only think its worth taking someone there for Birthdays and well special events. Not your everyday dining out.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! The manager was rude about not accepting my expired id (my wallet was recently stolen). After that, the server took my husband's unfinished beer. She ignored us the rest of the night, so we drank water (luckily the waterboy was diligent)! The food was ok, but definitely not worth the price. I've had better at Red Lobster. Then, to top it all off, they overcharged our card by $20! For better local flavor, go to Harbor House across the street!

You must have done something wrong. Captain Jacks has the best service in all of Orange County and the food is great. You can never go wrong with the Crab legs and the prime Rib.
I agree... must have done something wrong. Captain Jacks has the BEST service anywhere!! Been going there for 20 years and never been disappointed.
Never been there. Looks like a hole in the wall. I avoid it when I'm on PCH and hungry. That's a lot of money for food! I like R & D cafe in Newport Fashion Island. Go there. They treat you very well no matter how your dressed, your age, or what your race is.
According the the State of California, an expired I.D. is not valid for the purposes of purchasing alcohol. This is drilled into every bartenders, bouncers, waitress head when they go to the State's ABC training. Of course if you're over 30 and look old enough they should have let it slide.
Someone is rude for following the law?? Go figure. Food here is awesome. Price is moderate to high, but you get what you pay for! Nicole must be related to Harbor House
Go to Harbor House only if you can't find a Denny's. Sorry but Jack's is in a class of its own. Yes it does look like a dump going down PCH, but that's OK. It is usually packed and in a way that is good, Prime Rib is always great, appetizers super and salad is huge. Good atmosphere, best food/service in OC. Not cheap, but for 2 to drop $150 you have to go through a couple of bottles of their fine wine, of which there are excellent choices. Even if you ragged on all the help, I cannot believe they didn't treat you right. Always call you by name even if it is your first time there.
