This place in no good so please don't go there. The only thing good about this place is maybe the hot sauce.
A bit of history, it was my Dad who started Taco Lita in 1955 in Ontario CA . I beleive it grew to 15 locations around southern cal with some being franchised ( Duarte being one of them and the only one left)The main one and general office was in Pomona (#2) at Mission and White ave's.
We made the best burritos and had the best hot sauce anywhere.. All the food was made fresh daily is why it tasted so good. I remember Taco Wednesdays 5 for .99 cents.. A long time ago...
I hope all your memories are good one's at Taco Lita!!

Tried a couple of Tacos....These were only available with Ground Beef. 1st, let me state I'm very disappointed with the other Taco reviewers for this place. This is basically a better Taco Bell Taco. Pre-made shells were terrible. The meat tasted good, but was ground to almost a Pate' . The lettuce, tomato and cheese was good. The sauce didn't seem that special to me, but was OK. These sold for $1.55 ea. If you're really afraid of fried taco shells, then you will love this place. When I lived in Phoenix, all the ASU students would always vote Taco Bell as having the best Tacos. They would really love these. I'd bet most gringo's would like these.
I also tried a Combo burrito. This had the same finely ground beef with beans with cheese in a giant flour tortilla. This is almost a meal in itself. Pretty big and cost $5.25. This was not too bad. The flour tortilla is definitely better than I remember Taco Bell using. The meat, beans and cheese combination tasted good, not spectacular, but good.
This flavor may be better than Taco Bell, but doesn't have as big a selection of items to choose from.
This is really not meaning to knock gringos taste in Mexican food, as much as I'm just looking for delicious, flavorful, Tacos, that have either a deep fried shell or the tortilla & meat is deep fried. When you find that right combination, it may not be healthy, but it is Heaven. I'd only eat em no more than 4 times a month. I'm also not looking for "authentic" either. Just that good, California, designed by Mexicans, 40's thru 70's flavor.

If you work for this place, you ought to submit the correct Picture. Yahoo is showing....... I don't know what they are showing. Thanks for the History
I went to the Pomona store in the 1950s. One night a week you could get 10 tacos for $1.
