All three of my children was students at Pasadena Progressive Montessori which was now move to Altadena. All the parents was sad that the school was closed. Our experienced has been very positive. We love the director and the teachers who had been with the school during the past 10 years when my children attended. Despite the distance we are bring my youngest child to the new location. Their high achievement is due to the foundation they had at Montessori. We love you and internally grateful
While I have always loved the teaching staff here, there are a few things that leave me wanting something different. The young toddler teacher is excellent, but the pre-school teacher was overly strict. True Montessori methodology involves child lead exploration/learning, their program is teacher centered and based on handing out worksheets. Not only this, but the administration is very unorganized. We were charged different rates than our friends, and furthermore different rates from month to month. There were rate and contract changes mid year, and a change of ownership that was not communicated with us. At this point, many parents are unaware of what the school will be like in the coming academic year. The new director comes from "Pasadena Progressive Montessori" and is known to be strict with the kids. Preschool should be a positive experience and their approach may only teach rules and control. Not what I would call progressive. Go somewhere else!
This was my sons first daycare. The school was just starting for this location. The ladies made me and my son feel complete comfort and safety. After about 3 days, my son would cry when it was time to leave daycare (and for a first time mom, you couldnt wish for anything more). He loved the ladies so much he would kiss each of them before we left each day. I could show up at any time to visit. They treated my son as if he were their own. I love those ladies for that.
