User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAlways good: We've been eating here for many years. The staff is always friendly, the food is always very good, and the prices are very reasonable. Portions are so large that we always take some home. We've eaten in most of the finest restaurants in So Cal, but when we want good home cooking, we go to Arnold's.

The best kept secret in long beach: Arnolds is one of the most unique places i have evry been. established in 1951, with a lot of history. Not like anyother buffet style restaurant in southern california. Actually had really good food, not like the filler foods you eat at these all you can eat places that people flock to for some reason. My meal was under 10.00 with beverage. i would definatly recomend arnolds to anyone who enjoys good food and good service for a resonably price.

prices too high for steamtable food: food tastes like a cheesy buffet ,priced like a premium restaurant. all food served from steamtables who knows how long it has sat there I had the chicken very tasteless and dry

I know I'm looking at a 3+ yr. old review, but I just have to comment on this one. how does a rest. stay open 50+ yrs. serving the style of food you say they have. as far as steam tables, I like the way arnold's utilizes their's; not just keeping the food nice & warm, but seeing the menu in virtual reality is a big plus. I do have a suggestion for you. there is a KFC 1/2 mile north of arnolds. they use those wonderful bathroom style heat lamps to keep the "food" warm. maybe their chicken will suit your taste buds better.
