Conrad's is a true Pasadena landmark. One of the last independent family restaurants. Great food with lots of menu selections. Do yourself a favor -- stay away from those chain restaurants that serve pre-packaged foods with poor service. Go to Conrad's and see what real food and great service is all about. They have free parking and you are always seated quickly. A better alternative to the "same old same old" of old town.
They have a separate Cocktail Lounge that is very friendly and perfect for meeting friends after work.
I had a terrible experience at Conrad's in Pasadena and read this before you consider going there. Recently, I was there with a date and an elderly couple was sitting in the adjacent booth and listening to my conversation. I was discussing whether Columbus really discovered America and whether the Thanksgiving story about the Pilgrims was true. The elderly lady hears my comments and tells her husband that I am "un-American" and "should leave the U.S". I look at her and she yells to me "I hope you heard that". I said I did hear that. I than decided that I should try to find another table to sit to get away from these people. I walk to find the manager and the husband verbally threatens me twice. I said nothing in return not wanting to provoke a fight with a senior citizen. The waiters moved my date and me to another table. The incident ruined my mood and I did not eat my dinner and packed it into a doggy bag. As I was walking out, I told the hostess (night manager) about the incident and that I was owed an apology. She responded she didn't see it happen and would not apologize. She showed no concern about how I had been insulted about my patriotism and my manhood by two senior citizens. I had noticed a car with two American flags when I walked into the restaurant. I presume that was the car of the elderly couple. I had the feeling these were regular customers of the restaurant. If so, be careful what you say to avoid potential trouble and not ruin you dining experience
You are a fool. Don't give the restaurant a bad review because you are pissed at two old folks.
I cant believe you have the gall to say "read this before you consider going there."
I am sorry about your experience but if you think the restaurant should be held responsible, you are just one of a growing number of people that should not be allowed out.
