This was my fourth visit there this year, and I could not be happier. All the extra money I spent at the dealers all those years, when I was just a click away. Very happy to find this shop.. I always try to call them at least a week before im ready to take my car in, because they are by appointments, and very busy. They are very honest, reason saying is because, my wife took it to another Independent Audi while I was out of town, and got some services done, and the Tune up service was already done, and so when I took it to Steves VW | Audi for the Timing belt service ,and 80k service, they called and said that all the fiters and spark plugs look new, and did not need to be done.I was very happy to here that. Later on, finding out my wife went to a wrong shop. Steves Volkswagen and Audi is located in Pasadena, on Foothill Blvd, between San Gabrile, and Altadena, this is my dealership alternative right here. There prices comparing with the dealers, its crazy. I love my Audi . and hope some day soon to sell my wifes old BMW and buy her a Audi or a Volkswagen , so we can both take our cars here, They dont work on BMW or any other cars, just specializing in VW and Audi. Thats what makes them good. See you at 5k...

I chose this place based on reviews from this site but unfortunately had a very bad experience.
I towed my car in because it wasn't starting and got my car back "not driveable. There were two issues with my car. The primary issue was the car wasn't starting the 2nd unrelated issue was it wasn't shifting easily into reverse (a problem I had for about a month). The first call I received from the shop was that they could not find any issues. They were able to start the car, shift it into the various gears and stated it accelerated just fine. They mentioned it needed a transmission service and brakes so I agreed to those services. I then received a call that during the transmission service they determined I needed a new transmission. I started to discuss my options whether to take the car back as is since the car is old or invest in a transmission re-build. They then stated to me that my car was not driveable.
I didn't understand why it wasn't driveable since it was driveable before the transmission service. I questioned why it was no longer driveable since they had tested the gears / acceleration and they denied they performed this test. They stated it was not shifting into the gears when it was towed in and they did not test drive the car.
Overall, I'm still baffled my the experience. I obviously would not be agreeing to a brake service on a car that was not drivable for unknown reasons.
I ended up having my car towed to a different repair shop.

This place is why I love Independents. The very first time I visited, I was complaining about a simple road noise, they didn't bother hooking it up to the computer (saving me money), they just did a brief inspection and confirmed it was only my tires.
My second visit was as a result of a poor experience with a dealership up the road. I was left unsatisfied, and my car still in need of repair. Within a few moments of being at the shop, one of the mechanics mentioned they get a lot of business from "the dealerships". Can't be a coincidence.
I digress, they examined my car, fixed it under repair, and had me back on the road within 36 hours. In addition, I had to bring the car in as a result of an emergency, and they squeezed me in 5 days before my appointment! Hat's off to the crew at Steve's, you have my repeat business. Thanks again Albe! See you soon!
