I am so appreciative as our my friends that Borders offers a free venue for music and talent to showcase. This is very generous.

This has to be, without a doubt, the worst shopping experience of my 35-year-old life. From the slack-jawed and soul-dead employees to the filthy conditions of the store, it's more like where books and music go to die rather than to be sold.

The bathroom floors were soaked with what I hope was just water, and drifts of soggy toilet paper were stuck to the sink/counter as well as the floors.

The cafe employees were all seemingly sick, coughing into their hands before reaching into the pastry displays (without gloves) to serve food.

One manager, some young bald guy with a beard, was so inept I had to help him find a book for a customer.

It's no surprise Borders was desperately trying to get Barnes and Noble to buy them out--with stores this bad, there's no way hey could turn a profit.

go to read, but don't go to the bathroom: Ok I love going to read, but it's always freezing cold in there. They need to turn the heat on a little bit. I feel cold air blowing on me when I'm trying to look for a book. It's December and it's way too cold in there. I hate coffee, so I have to bring a huge coat just to read. AND then the BATHROOM ARE DISGUSTING!! Always messy, and never seat covers, and it's a rare occasion when there are actually paper towels. And the hand soap on the counter: sick who wants to put their hands on something thousands of people touch!!! not me. I love Borders for their book selection, but just don't go to the bathroom there. Seriously, the Shell station across the road in cleaner!

I am glad someone else has issues with the bathrooms. They are gross. The manager blamed it on the patrons, are the patrons supposed to stock the bathrooms with seat covers and paper towels?
