We went to La Fondue last week and there is a sign on the door. This La Fondue location is closed.
Some of the worst food I have ever had: I have been driving by this place with my for a year now and saying we should go. Boy did I make a mistake. The restaurant was empty and service was still slow. The food was worse than my ex wives before I taught her how to cook. they served the food while the oil was still cold. The salad that clearly stated on the menu that mushrooms were extra came with the evil fungus anyway. None of the food was seasoned, and the sauces came in flimsy paper cups, being a plumber I can tell you that they spring for the more expensive plastic at lunch trucks for the salsa. Only I can have a good meal served with a smile and seasoned properly at a lunch truck for about $ 10.00 not the 35 that they steal from you at this restaurant
misleading good rating: I went to this restaurant craving some good fondue and was glad that I found a place with such good critics/rating. But then - sitting in the nearly empty reastaurant - they brought on the cheese fondue as appetizer. A way too dense mess that tasted mainly like emmentaler and not the intricate combination of the 3 yummy cheeses that usually belong in it. So maybe the french have a different take on cheese fondue? Then came the escargots with no flavor and hardly any sauce. After that - the main course was meat fondue. The meat was good but the sauces were ghetto. Some rotten tasting tomatoe sauce, a generic sweet and sour sauce, something they called bernais style butter - which really only had tarragon in it - too much for that matter and to top it off all the sauces came in little paper cups sitting in an old washed too many times fake wood texture plastic plate. (The whole dinner special is 35.-). Come on! The french can be quirky but if anyone would serve something like that in france it would land in the waiters face! oh, but what waiter? The staff there was very nice but even with the restaurant empty they took a long time to come around and help you out of your misery by serving another glass of wine to help you over the nastiness. They could have made alot more money in drinks if they would have been at hand. Well, today I am gald I saved that money and the hangover. But please take this as a warning - if you have any tastebuds and like some nice ambience when you go for a special / pricy dinner - go someplace else! any place else, really!
