User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe beef and sparerib plate is huge, but these are wet ribs before the sauce! They are way more boiled than BBQed. I like dry in my Weber and then sauce em. Not smoky enough for me.

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is the best East Texas style BBQ available in Southern California and possibly in the country! Although I prefer our own Santa Maria style Q over Texas Q; I've never found a place that does it well.
The Dr. puts to shame the rest of the Valley's Q offerings. For example, I have a friend that raved about Valley Ranch on Sherman Way. After a next day trip to Dr. HW's, my friend decided to take the red pill and leave the BBQ matrix forever. Dr. HW's closest competition is El Paso BBQ in Tarzana; which isn't even close. As stated before, I prefer Santa Maria style Q but will take Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas prescription any day.

I'm going to forget the fact that your responce to my review ofd this dump was to call me an idiot. If this is what texas bbq tastes like than the entire state of texas don't know a damn thing about good food. I wasn't talking trash about this place because I was being funny, its an honest responce. Maybe they changed things up I don't know, it sux. If u ain't afraid to go to the ghetto, phillips on crenshaw and adams is the best bbq in LA period. I know people that have moved here from texas tell me they never had any bbq that good back home.
