When Bob owned this restaurant the place was superb!!! Now that this joke Mike owns the restaurant the place has gone to crap! The sushi quality has gone down and the guy is a real piece of work! One time he shared with my table how he just bought a $200 belt....none of us were sure why he opted to share this with us...guess he was showing off. Nice to know that's the kind of thing my money is used for with this company....not pleased AT ALL!!!
Oh I forgot to mention that it took at least an hour to get our food and then after we were done eating took another 15-30 minutes to see the bill! Ridiculous service!!!
The best sushi bar in studio city without a doubt. The service is awesome, Mike is such a nice guy, I like the family atmosphere. But nothing is better than the sexy roll or teru roll, i get one of each every time i go there.
What is a Teru Roll? I was Teru's closest friend and was involved with him when he was brought in by John Phillip Law and Louise & George Millman (financial backers and operators) to bring the project life. Teru brought 5 Sushi Men from the Ginza strip in Tokyo that were some of the finest sushi men available from Japan, and they could not speak a word of English. I would spend hours teaching them what I could and Saka was the quickest to pick it up. It was Teru's inspiration to place Cherry blossoms on the side wall. There is a floor safe with a sub safe under it. He was the key decision influencer that constructed the bar itself to seat as many as it does. And the menu was his design and he and Louise, an artist of significance, came up with the tapestry idea of a carp jumping out of the ocean with Teru riding it. The grand opening was staged with a large ice sculpture flowing with Sashimi and attended by Christopher Reeves, who needed rescuing from a photographer, Aileen Getty, Christopher Wilding, Timothy Leary, and numerous celebs. They ate the finest fish, preped the finest manner til the wee hours and for 2 days and the restaurant was standing room only by Saturday. Teru Sushi was the first Sushi bar to be written up in Gourmet Magazine. Thus the basis for my question. What is a Teru Roll. If it does not contain Uni then he would have nothing to do with it. The best sushi in town. Getting better and better everytime i eat there. If you have not ate there in a long time you should go try it out now.... Its all about the new specials..... mouth watering
