The Smoke House is still a great resturant after all the years it has been in business. I went there when I was a little kid with my parents and now I have a grown married kid of my own and the Smoke House still rocks. The cheese bread is flat out great and you can't stop eating it. Wish I lived closer, we drove 77 miles to go there last Father's day. The Smoke House is a class resturant where you can go and relax in a quite atmosphere without being rushed out like most of today's resturants. Leave the kids home and take the wife there before you go to the Pantages for a play. Wish there were more resturants like the Smoke House. Seeing the old menu on the wall from when I was a kid brought back a lot of good memories.
I had a large party to put together- 70+. Jeannete who does management of the large parties is wonderful. We had it planned out. However, the prices are deceving- it says that dishes are around $26 per person which sounds reasonable. However, you have to then add appetizers, and drinks. They do not allow you to bring bottles of liquor like Halls do eventhough they come up under a search for "halls." Had to cancel since the $26 initial price rose to $60+ after factoring in the other stuff and they refused to accomodate the liquor open bottle request.
Besides the garlic cheese bread, which IS AWWWWSOMMMM, there's the live entertainment, especially on the first two Fridays of the month and some Saturdays. Marv Robinson's smooth jazz, Al Green/George Benson/Motown picks on these Fridays, and Irene Cathaway's Arethaesk, and famous jazz vocals are worth whatever you may not like about the food. Is there ANYTHING you DON'T like about the food? Ah....Nevermind....don't try it. I like it when I have it mostly to myself. To the owners: Stop the Sports!!! It's not a Sports Bar and, you lose business everytime you replace the entertainment with the TV!!!
