I can say that in all of my experiences in seeking growth as an artist, I have never matured so much as I have in Ms. Oh’s classroom. Ms. Oh is my most memorable art teacher, as she not only teaches you the basic concepts of making art, but pushes you to conceptualize beyond your usual mode of thinking. What I admire most is how she fosters each student’s creativity. She is dedicated as a teacher and really focused on her students. Often before I begin a piece, she pushes me to develop my compositions even more, to keep building from my initial ideas. What I have learned greatly is not only how to manipulate and learn the characteristics of every medium she has taught me, but how to think as an artist, for there is much more depth inside an artist’s thought than I realized there could be. Ms. Oh is an excellent and inspiring teacher with a sense of humor. She’s easygoing and fun to hang around and is full of creativity. And yes, like in the other reviews, Ms. Oh can really build up one’s confidence, which helps one’s art shine more and helps them pursue opportunities. I highly recommend her tutelage for anyone, whether one is a child taking art for enrichment, a student preparing a portfolio for art school, or even someone who is interested art for personal enjoyment. A teacher like her is rare to find.
