Carambas is our favorite Mexican Restaurant around the Pasadena/Alhambra area. Its atmosphere is cozy and traditional, the staff is nice and the Avocado Salad is my favorite dish around town.
Although it's location is "holeinthewall," Carambas is almost always busy with regulars. I seriously can't say enough about this restaurant. It is the perfect family restaurant. If you haven't tried it, I definitely recommend that you do.
Positives: ambiance, delicious food (avocado salad!) and drinks, friendly owners and staff, QUICK service
Negatives: parking (it can be confusing finding the place) Every time we go there is a spot, but if there wasn't, I don't know where we would park. AND they use yellow cheese on their quesadilla.
Cute little ghetto-mexican restaurant... not if you want to make an impression on anyone.
Great, authentic Mexican food.
Love it!
great place for mexican food and drinks: I've been going to this place for years. It reminds me of my mom's cooking :). Their drinks are without a doubt the best! Order the double cadillac margarita and you're done. The service is excellent. Very friendly staff.

I don't what kind of cheese or sour cream they use, but I broke out in hives. If I were to go again it would be for the Margaritas & chips only.
