Sandwiches: No 16" (would be too expensive, once I found out the price of the 8")
Sanfilippos having the most expensive 8" sandwiches, of all businesses that I have inquired to. The largest size being a 12"
When I asked of "How many ounce of meat do you put on the sandwich?" --- that was a deadend sound.
I was told that "Enuff is put on."
I thought the same of another business that I ordered two 16" ; until I later began eating the first sandwich.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI've been going to this place for years as it is conveniently down the street from us, but unfortunately wont be going back again. The food is mediocre Italian at best and there are far better places in La Mesa (Pietros for one). But the unprofessional and rude waitresses are the number one reason our family and almost all of my friends agree that this restaurant is no longer on our favorites list.
The last three times we were dining there the waitress was so rude to us,and especially our kids(my son was actually afraid to ask her for dough) and when he did, she said"cant you see I have my hands full, I'll get it when I'm ready" in a very scolding tone. The waitress just kept getting ruder & ruder to the point that I started looking around for cameras thinking I was on candid camera or punked- the service was that bad.
I don't know if they treated us like that because we are(were) regulars and they thought we would still be coming back as always? No matter, we wont ever be going back. After being twice a month regulars for 15 yrs. we have now found our new local Italian place-Oh, and they absolutely love kids-

The food is okay. There are better places in La Mesa. The last time we went the service wasn't that great. The fact that you cannot have two seperate bills is a pain also. And if you have a party of more than five they will add 20% to your bill. We had two families total of six people (four children) and we were also charged 20% and the service we recieved certainly wasn't worth that! We went on a Wednesday eve.
