This place was dreadful and led to a very disappointing New Years' Eve for my wife and I;
Where do I begin;
1. First, we were seated at a nice table, but JUST AFTER we were done getting settled in and comfortable, they bounced us from that table for a bigger party. They sat us at a cheesy little table off in the very corner of their patio, where my wife proceeded to FREEZE HER ASS OFF, because it was an open air patio that had very little heaters and a major draft coming form the plastic tarps they used to enclose it. They said "we'll be happy to get your first round of drinks", but you know, I can buy my own drinks, I can't get back an enjoyable evening.
2. Service was SLOOOOWWWWWW. Yeah it was New Years' Eve, but we got steak and chicken? It shouldn't take 90 minutes to get those to us, especially when my wife is turning into a popsicle!
3. Food was mediocre at BEST! My $39 filet was dry and DON'T order the chipotle-peppercorn dipping sauce unless you like dipping your steak in Nyquil, which is what it tasted like. My wife's chicken with fingerling potatoes had all of two potatoes in it!
My wife and I live in Dana Point and usually go north for trips, Laguna, Malibu, Santa Barbara, etc. and don't get down this way very much, so we were really in the dark as to where to go? I can now tell you....DON'T GO HERE!
This place is the epitome of bad service. When I complained about my dirty plates, the waiter said he'd "alert the manager." When the manager stopped by, I told him. He said, "That's interesting." Interesting?! I couldn't believe my ears! I tried to get thru my dinner. But I couldn't get past this. Did they offer to compensate us? Give us (at least) a free glass of wine? Heck no. they jsut plopped down that check and expected us to pay for it. Disgusting! Never again. Don't go unless you're used to filth.
Margaritas and Beautiful People: The margaritas are amazing and the people watching is top-notch. The plaza is just a cool place to hang out.
