| About: | The Armenian Cafe serves Middle Eastern cuisine on an outdoor patio. Most guests opt to dine on the porch, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. On Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy live belly dancing entertainment. Belgian Waffles top the breakfast menu. For an elaborate breakfast, top your waffle with fruit, ice cream, whipped cream and syrup. Later in the day, consider the Spinach Bereg Platter. Phyllo dough is stuffed with spinach and cheese, then baked and served with rice pilaf and cucumber and yogurt dip. |

This is the kind of place you wish was next to your house + it would be cheaper. Service has always been fine every time I've been there, but if you have great food you can treat me like a dog and I'll come back. Prices are a little steep unless you sit outside, OCEAN VIEWS and GREAT FOOD. In the end my pocket may hurt a little, but my stomach is happy. ONE TIP IS, STAY AWAY FROM THE GARLIC DIP UNLESS YOU WANT TO CLEAR A ROOM, AND SEE FIRE COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH (but it tastes so GOOD).
We love the Armenian Cafe and come whenever we are in the area. The restaurant is not fancy, but the food is delicious and portions are very generous. The service was cheerful and playful (they teased my kids and joked around with us) so we didn't really care when they forgot to bring the glass of wine I ordered. The musician outside played familiar tunes to charm the children and their families out on the patio. We love the house garlic dip (for garlic lovers only--it bites!) and always order it as an appetizer. If you love Middle Eastern/Greek food, you'll love it here; it feels like eating at a beloved uncle's home.
We generally stay next door and eat most of our dinners and a few breakfasts at the cafe. The service is very helpful and excellent. I never was a lamb lover but I now love lamb. I always get the lamb kebob combo. The Lemon-chicken soup is superb.
We try to get over to Carlsbad a couple times a year and always eat there. It is a few dollars more than a fast food, but the belly dancing, food, and service makes it worth it.. Thank you Armenian Cafe...
