User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI use to find Hunter our favorite place. We ordered Prime Rib by the half and whole to take to parties and for parties ourselves. We were there a couple of times a week. Tonight, several staff members let two gay guys call me down in the bar for being on a cell phone and I will never go back. How insulting it was. I will tell you and all of my friends that the food is average, but it was convenient. And, it was easy to cater Marine things because of their proximity to the base.
I have spent my last dollar there. If you are a good customer and the management or wait-staff does not stand up for you, why would you ever go back to an establishment like that? I paid my bill and left. Maybe it would have been different if the gay guys had complained to someone instead of being in my face. And, my response was inappropriate to the gay guys...really inappropriate. It is hard to stand up for yourself with no support.
My business, all the catering business our friends get from there, and my dollars will always go to another establishment.
Again, my response to being attacked by customers was inappropriate, but there was no support for me before that response.
I would suggest that no one go to this establishment.
I have nothing against gays, but there are many Oceanside Marines that would not want to do big business with people who support gays over retired Marines and their wives who are loyal proponents of Hunter Steak House.
Now, Hunter is far from the only show in town. Go see other places. 333 Pacific is terific. I will go there from this point forward.

I have been comming here for 25 years, my last trip was very bad, I had a party of 5 and wanted to order the Prime & Lobster, we were informed that there was only (1) Lobster tail in the house.So 4 people had to settle and work on the crab legs. This wasn't pleasnat, since I recomended this to my freinds. I probbally will not return.

Awesome place. Great food, even better service, quick to be seated and food to table fast. Will definately return.

well dog my cat leave your cell out side and let other peopel enjoy ther meal sounds like your a racist i have nothing against them they need to be sent on a island . thank god there were no mexicans or jews there they would have probely taken you out side and kicked your ass.as far as the food goes it sucks used to be very good been going down hill for a long time why did you go there anney way.
