| About: | This club is a prime spot to hear new and cutting edge music in San Diego. Bands such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Alanis Morisette have been among the previous guests. Local bands play here as well, primarily featuring a punk-rock flavor. In addition to music, the club offers pool tables, an enclosed smoking patio, vintage pinball and video games. A stage provides plenty of room to dance. Meanwhile, the full bar serves a long list of beverages. |

San Diego's Best: This is the best live-music venue in San Diego...despite a less than stellar sound system. I've been here quite a few times and always have a great time. They book the bands I want to see and I'm usually entertained by the warm-up acts that I don't know. The drink prices (and selection) are near nirvana. Plus, the back room is nice.
Best Place for a Show......EVER: The Casbah is simply the best live music venue in San Diego for some amazing acts. The band sthat play here dont play at the larger places but they usually end up later on down the road which is why you need to see bands here. It is small enough that you are never more than 20 Feet from the bands. The drinks are cheap and the crowd is diverse and usually pretty cool.
Music: Every time I go to the Casbah I'm exposed to at least one band that was worth seeing. It's small and personal, the sound is excellent (and loud), easy to get a drink, and the music line-up is generally the most interesting and diverse in town.
