I shopped AE on the website on the 15th Dec this year (2007); and my daughter didn't receive her gifts. I called twice and emailed twice; on both phone calls, I was told a tracking number wasn't available for my order, and yet I (stupidly) believed the representative when I was told the shipment would arrive on Christmas Eve.
When I called today 12/26/07 I was told the order had JUST SHIPPED.
I do a lot of 'net shopping and let me tell you, I am not happy! I have a pending return call from AE in 48 hours and someone is at AE Corporate is going to need to sweat blood before I am satisfied.
My son's order from Fred Perry was placed the same day, and believe me, those vendors know how to make a site user and track-friendly. By contrast, I was able to follow my order from Heathrow to northern California, including the name of the person who signed for the package four days later.....now that's service!!!!!
In my opinion and experience, American Eagle gets a minus 10 for effort, accountability and customer satisfaction. I'll update if the AE Corporate office gives me more than a fancy-worded apology and a shabby discount.
So, how do you shoppers place a dollar -value on a disappointed daughter on Christmas morning??
