Company Information: Fun for adults and kids, this museum-on-water is the focal point of San Diego's historic Embarcadero Promenade. Comprised of several painstakingly restored historic ships, it is a tribute to the sea-faring age. One of the ships showcased here is the Star of India (1863), a stunning vision that graces the coastline as the world's oldest actively-sailed, square-rigged ship.
Hours of Operation: Daily 9am-8pm
Categories: Tourist Attractions, All Entertainers, Other Organizations, Art Museums & Galleries
I love this museum and highly recommend you stop by this summer. It is located next to the Star of India right downtown on the water. Go aboard the pirate ship HMS Surprise, a 179-foot full rigged replica of a 24 gun frigate of Great Britain's Nelson era Royal Navy. Take a half-hour excursion on San Diego Bay aboard the museum's historic 1914 Harbor Pilot Boat
THE FESTIVAL OF SAIL: It's one year away, but the tall ships will be returning to San Diego August 20 - 24, 2008. This may be a good time to become a member and sign-up to help them with this wonderful event.
