At first I thought the customer service at this place was great or at least over the phone it was but boy was I in for a rude awakening.
After, numerous phone calls trying to get a certain law manual it was finally good to go or so I thought!
This was my first experience with a "law library" and my mind set was in a public library mode where the patron get's assistance and the exquisite customer service that one deserves.
Boy, was I wrong the staff there especially the female that works the reference area that has shoulder brunette hair she was of no assistance whatsoever! She writes down the name of the book and tells me to go to the third floor up the stairs and as I go through the double glass doors to go right and it will be there. I then told her this was my first time here and I need some help because I do not know anything about a law library. I felt that I was being thrown to the wolves and if she could please help me I would be most appreciative. She refused my plead and just gave me a couple of index cards with a name and numbers for me to be devoured in a sea of law books.
I did as I was instructed but to no avail and since I was on a tight time schedule I rushed down to tell her that I did as I was instructed but I didn't find it and could she please help me find it because I was on a fixed time schedule. She didn't want to help but finally after my pleading she finally assisted me but on the way their the law library security officer which is a black male wanted to play Captain Security America and asked her do you need me to go with you? I told him and her I am of no threat I just need this manual so I can get in and out of here. Finally, she found the manual for me but none of them were "circulating" of course I was in disarray since I had to make special arrangements to get here and this is what I receive. I made a comment and said this is just not right I came here all the way from Mira Mesa to find out there is nothing here? I would of been better off just staying asleep and not having to pay the $60.00 fee and I would be submitting a review about how this was the worse customer service that I have ever experienced.
As I came down the stairs I had my bluetooth but it wasn't on but to keep it from being bent I had it over my ear and I was speaking to the circulator which I must say is the most professional one out of the whole law library and the black male security guard asked me are you talking on your phone. I replied, no I am not talking on my phone and to kick back, relax and I stated his name then he came unglued and charged towards me as if he was going to hit me but fornuately this didn't happen.
I apologized to the staff at the "law library" if I were a bit stressed but I was on a time guideline. I then checked out a manual which I hope helps me but I can gurantee you that I will not be going back to this "law library" because it was the worse first time experience I have ever had.
I thought that they were "public servants" meaning they assist the citizens but perhaps I am wrong.
Perhaps, it should be mandatory that these "law library" workers go through a course on how to treat their patrons with respect.
