Well, its the only "Big" theatre in town that has any character to it. Plus, you can go for a walk afterward, get some wine, coffee, ice cream etc. Go on Sunday, parking everywhere is free, or park at Horton Plaza a few blocks away for three hours free - just don't forget to get it validated somewhere in the mall!
If you are looking for a theater to show your films, I would suggest a different venue. Staff seems overworked and apathetic. Went there today to see a special showing of a stage production of "Nation*" and the video conked out part way through the first act - just had the sound - you had to listen to the dialogue and try to imagine what was taking place. One of the audience left to get help and about ten minutes later there was a light in the projection booth and the video eventually came back on.
I went to the manager after the showing to let her know what had happened and her attitude was sort of "are you sure you aren't just imagining it?" No apology, and what seemed to me the general attitude of "go away, please."
To be fair, perhaps they were losing money on the showing - there weren't many people in the audience. There didn't seem to have been any effort by the theater to advertise the event. The theater didn't list the video on the show listings on the ticket booth, the marquee outside the viewing room was for a different movie, and the tickets we got, after showing our confirmation from Fandango stated "Free" and were corrected in ball point pen.
*This was a video of a BBC stage presentation of Terry Pratchett's novel "Nation". Terry Pratchett is a popular writer in Britain, but not as well known here in the States.
phone number is discounected and there is no new number listed. If anyone goes there can u let the stupid manager know he or she needs to update the web site info,
Thanks
