Classes were a complete waste of time and money: Both classes I took at ACI were taught by artists who are skilled in their field but who don't have a clue about how to teach. The school does no followup with students to see how the class went (no teacher evaluations done by students). In my drawing class, everyone dropped out but me and I finally gave up, too.
I also paid $100 for a one-day collage class for myself and a friend. The class consisted of the teacher showing us a number of techniques one after the other with no practice on any of them, and then throwing a disorganized trash bag full of scraps of paper and fabric on the table for us to use. Afterward, my friend said, "I didn't learn anything. For $100 bucks, we could have bought a lot of materials and done a better job collaging on our own, and still have money left over to go out to dinner afterward."
The friends who recommended ACI to me have learned a lot in their painting classes there, so there may be some good classes. But the school isn't getting any more of my time or money.
