| About: | At a time when more and more people are becoming vegetarians, places like the Red Fox Room and Steakhouse are few and far between. This restaurant serves a menu full of red meat, including hamburgers and steak dinners. Composed of two rooms, neither having windows, yet rich in burgundy vinyl booths, this spot is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and relax. The best seat in the house is right by the piano, where live entertainers perform on some nights. |

Places like this are now completely extinct. I LOVE this dark, gritty place!! A little bit of a "Hole in the Wall", but where else can you get a perfectly cooked steak AND Lobster, crudites, salad and home-made ranch dressing, baked potatoe and garlic bread for $27.00!!!! Dark paneling and fireplace imported from England, red vinyl chairs and booths and I swear to God.....the "Horse Statue" from the "Brady Bunch " house! Not really, but it looks just like it. This place is straight out of the 50's. Standard "Meat & Taters" menu, includes steaks, seafood and teriyaki chicken. To the girl vegitarian who posted a mediocre review...IT IS A STEAKHOUSE! There is also piano player in the bar area as well that plays after 8:00pm. It has been a tradition that I come here every year for the last 13 years for my birthday, and it has never been a dissapointment. I do normally order an extra lobster tail on the side as they are a little on the small side. But this year they were pretty big, so I ended up with a doggie bag". Granted in that time there was a period of the fun "Old School" waitresses that would "take no sass". Alas, they are retired now. I loved them.....ladies in their 60's, with dark wigs and half inch thick panty hose that went...."vrit, vrit, vrit" when they hurridly walked past. The new girls did provide horrible service between "04" and "08". However, there is presently a new turnover of very pleasant waiters. One of which is either Chad or Chaz, (sorry), I forgot his name (damn those Pomegranite Martinis). Chaz was a delightful and very attentive server. I will request him all the time now, (sorry Chaz) LOL - Oh...the Pomegranite Martinis are freaking awesome and if you order a bourbon-7, be prepared for bourbon with a tiny splash of 7....yum. I just wish they would serve their Martini's in a standard sized Martini Glass instead of the tiny "Barbie" glass it came in. As for the bar, they are mostly locals hanging out and the bar servers do have a gritty quality about them, but are friendly non-the-less. It's not "Ruth Chris" or "Fleming's", but it is a wonderful place to grab an inexpensive but great steak!! Hey its' a "gritty", but wonderful gem, so pull up a chair and enjoy a great meal!
The Red Fox is a blast !! The Bartender Heidi and the waitress April are just so great. An amazing place to relax, People watch and have great times.
This place is an authentic piano bar. The appetizers are ok, but service is AWFUL! My God these women look and act so miserable. Not one of them smiled. I don't know why they would be in that job as a choice. I don't tip by law/suggestion I tip by service received, needless to say a little was all I had to give. I don't know how they make tips, they must get good hourly wages. Go for the drinks and ambiance, but not the service.
