I am actually afraid to go into this store without my fiance. He's 6'2" and built like a linebacker and, as long as he's there, I'm not scared because this is one scary store. The photo developing area is running by some of the meanest people I've ever met. But they're nothing compared to this one check-out "girl" - a latina with pencil-thin eyebrows (does she think she's Madonna playing Evita, perhaps?!) who looks and acts like she'd knife you in the back as soon as look at you. She's bitched me out on several occasions while ringing me up (for no reason I could ever figure out) and the last time I was in with my future husband, he asked her for an extra bag, as the one bag she gave him for all his purchases didn't look like it was strong enough to make it home with all that weight. She gave him another bag, all right; she hurled it at him with a fury, glaring malevolently at him the whole time. Really, really creepy!
There's another competing drugstore/pharmacy in the neighborhood whose name rhymes with "CBS" (substitute the middle letter) and they at least don't have staff that look like they'd stab you to death in the parking lot. I want to live long enough at least to see my kids grown up, so I'll just go there from now on and not to to Rite-Aid on Robinson in Hillcrest.
