I wanted to have The French Gourmet cater for me. It was going to be a dinner for 6 people. I contacted them through their website, asking for a quote. I never got any response. I assume that my party being small, I was not considered an interesting prospect. But it wouldn't have hurt anybody to answer me, would it? Even to tell me that my project was of no interest to them.
However now, they have lost my clientele, whatever the size of my next parties. These people are very unprofessional.
By telephone, I ordered "additional" hors d'oeuvres from the catering department for my small wedding reception to supplement what I was already serving. The representative was clearly annoyed that I was asking about the prices and limiting how much I needed. At one point, she suggested that I could try Costco since I was concerned about the cost. I found her to be condescending and rude. The morning that I was to pick up the order, I made a special trip to pre-pay since I wouldn't be the one picking up the order. I specifically asked if I needed a receipt. They said it wasn't necessary because they had the ticket there. When my son picked them up they said I had not paid. This was embarassing for him. They also gave him only half the order. When he questioned the amount, they said that was all I had ordered. He had to make an additional trip there to collect the rest of the hor d'oeuvres that they didn't give him initially. Luckily, we were having an evening wedding so we had enough time. I'm not impressed with their service or attitude and will not use them again.
I ordered several bakery items at the French Gourmet
on the phone the day before Easter. The woman who
took the order was pleasant and counted out
the items to make sure they had what I wanted and the right
amount. I said I probably would not be in to get the order for two hours. When I went to pick up the order, they said they did not have my order. Of course, most of the items I wanted were now gone because they obviously had sold them. I think what bothered me most is that they acted like it was no big deal and my fault and wanted to know who took the order and there was NEVER an apology. All of the three woman working said they had not taken the order - imagine that.
Of course, most of the items I wanted were not available as
they had obviously sold them. Morale to story, always get a name when you place an order so they cannot pretend it is your fault and that you talked to an imaginary person when you placed your order.
