hot girls, but a total meat head bar...bouncers are fight club wannabes who are just looking to fight...if you like bad food, thugs and fights youll probably like McGregors...its a Johnny from Karate Kid kind of place!

If you are a SD homer, great place. Somthing strange about a 'sports bar' that tunes in 18 of 20 TV's to the Chargers game. Food is copious and non descript...calorie haven. Service is mediocre.

I've been here twice & let me just put a "positive" spin on things because I was quite taken back by the review before mine since my experience there was the complete oposite. McGregor's is a popular hot spot for young and older locals and it gets very busy, very fast! the bouncers have to be certain they are not letting in minors with fake I.D's, this process takes longer than flashing your I.D. at them like you do in the grocery store. So next time you wait in line just be thankful that the people inside that you are trying to pick up on arent under age which could land you in jail later on if you know what I mean. When there is a large crowd in there and you think the bartenders are being rude, just remember, they are not your "personal" bartender, they have 100's of other people who want a drink the same time you do. They are required to work fast and get drinks to people, not perform a 3 ring circus for you. Besides, throughout the night they have cocktail waitresses that come around and ask people if they want anything. How's that for personal service? If you are just standing there trying to listen to music... Well, your just silly, I go there to socialize w/ my friends & meet new people, not sit and enjoy music. You want music? Go to a concert. Why you had your blackberry in the bathroom and not in your pocket or in your purse I have no idea, but if I was carrying an expensive electronic device in my hand I certainly would not set it down in the bathroom stall. I would secure it in my pocket, bra, or purse otherwise, "Finders Keepers!" I really enjoy going to McGregors, my girlfriends and I try to make a Friday night of it 2-3 times a month and we drive from Lakeside to go there. They have great food, a great environment and lots of neat & interesting people!
