**BEWARE** The service is awful. Nasty and mean cashiers that give you attitude. Very prejudice toward gays and lesbians. They seem to have a problem serving anyone that appears gay/lesbian to them and snicker and stare behind the counter and will barely acknowledge you then wait on you with a very condescending and patronizing demeanor. SHAME ON THEM!
El Zarape above average mexican food .My better half (in many ways) and I, we went to the NEW Zarape on Adams Ave and 32nd st.We were pleasantly surprised, with a couple of good dishes . Well one good and one outstanding Fish w/crab type sauce (right on ).The imported merlot outstanding .thier margaritas are OK if you LIKE a full glass of ICE for $7.50 with a couple sipps of fluid.(NOT GOOD). Watch out for the margarita girl. They have a Meatball soup which althought is not a soup at all is very tasty good for a appetizer, minus the rice and beans. The service was excellent !!! I live just a few blocks away from El Zarape and absolutely LOVE it! The menu is extensive (even for vegetarians!). Every single thing that my fiance and I have tried, we have enjoyed. The place is very small, so we usually get take out. Chips and salsa are not to be missed!
