I will start by saying that I bought my car from this dealership, a 2007 Elantra, and I got a good price and was very pleased.
I brought my car to the service department yesterday (12-4-08) at 10 AM, and when I picked up my vehicle at 3 PM, I found two crumpled receipts on the floor. They were a register receipt from Arbys (the restaurant), from 11:30 AM on 12-4-08, and the credit card receipt from that same transaction.
Let me be clear, the service technician TOOK MY CAR TO ARBYS WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING ON IT. And he left paper documentation in my car about it.
I complained, and the General Manager and Service Manager apologized to me. That was good. They did not offer me anything. I do not think I will going back there for service.
If the technician is too stupid to take the receipts with him, how can I trust he will do good work on my car?
I REALLY REALLY Hate These Guys. I Didn't Know That I Had To Have An Appt. With Them First Before They Can Service On My Car. I Thought Having My Engine Light Turn On Was Something That Need To Be Taken Care Of ASAP But Instead I Had To Wait A Week Before I Can Bring Back My Car And Get It Check For Like 5 Minutes In Total To Tell Me Some Wire Was Loose... Real Stupid! They Donât Respect Your Car For NOTHING. I Had A Recent Oil Change With Them And They Forgot To Put Back Some Screws From My Engine Shell (Outer Cover); After Them Rinsing Your Car, They Hand Dry It With A Towel While Scratching Your Paint. Not Like Big Scratched But You Do See Them. I Thought It Was Nice Of Them To Wash My Car A Bit But Noticing The Scratch Marks; I Rather Just Go Wash It Myself. For The Inside, Since My Interior Is Grayish/Tan⦠It Had Black Oil Finger Print All Over The Door Handle And Steering Wheel. Next I Had My Radio Noise Level At 2 Bars And On Preset Number One, When I Got It Back; It Was At 6 Bars On Some Random Station. Come On Now!!! Are They There To Listen To My Radio Or Work On My Car? There Nothing Wrong With Listening To Music While Working But Using Mine? Donât They Have Their Own Portable Radio There?
Just Remember Also I Had To Pay Booku Bucks For All That Half A$$ Job.
Stereotype Me But Its All True
DO NOT GO HERE, unless you want to be talked down to by overweight depressed salesmen in a very condescending tone, suggesting that their mediocre lives somehow put them in a position to tell you how to live yours. I have been to many dealerships to try to buy a car, and this was by far my worst experience. After I finally had enough and walked off the lot, I had to physically restrain myself from running over the salesman who "helped" me. I'd rather take the bus than go here EVER AGAIN.

I'll add that it's actually important for an automotive technician to drive a car around after performing repairs on it. This way, that noise you described to them can be verified fixed. It also verifies that no other new issues were introduced. Many problems can only be detected while actually driving the vehicle. The fact that the guy drove the car to Arby's may be unsavory to you but if you ask me, he was multitasking.
