I brought in the front forks off my motorcycle in the end of Dec to have the seals replaced. A month later i noticed the right one still leaking.They said to bring it back and they will take care of it. Brent the ser. manager told me they would inspect it to figure out y it is leaking still On Feb 4 they said it was done but when I went to pick it up i saw 3 deep silver scratches in the black inner fork going up under the seal. I inspected the fork completely before bringing it in and told the service manager that but he said there is no way it could have happened there. After arguing he finally said the part was $250 and they would cover it. I get a call Feb 6 saying the part is actually $970 and they will not pay for it. Ive now spoken with the service manager(Brent), general manager(Mel), service dir.(steve) and owners asst.(Brian) and they all claim this happened from dust in the fork while i was riding. I know the scratches are straight up and down but they are extremely obvious even with the fork together. If they were there when I brought it in then Y didnt the tech tell anyone or note it on the paperwork. It just seems they are covering something up by trying to give it back to me without telling me or fixing it. Now the tech is saying he does remember seeing them but didnt think it would make it leak. When I noticed the scratches I compressed it up against the ground quite a few time and it started seeping out, thats with only 100lbs of pressure, of course with it on the bike it will leak with a lot more weight on it. At this point they keep trying to get me to take the fork and put it on my bike but i dont want to touch it or go through all that work until i know it wont leak! I refuse to pay 1000 for a part that I know was not scratched until it was at that shop!
I bought a bike from here about 5 months ago. This place in all its slender and great building structure is about to get a very bad review from me.
I got a used bike for what I thought was a good deal for about $8000 dollars there. So when I looked in the blue book after buying the bike, it was actually worth half that price mentioned earlier.
What's funny is how they do the great price song and dance and then hype up the bike and then turn around and give you a bad finance rating if you are a first time motorcycle or vehicle buyer and not sure what you are doing...Watch out for the ratings cause they took me with my rating! It was a great thing that I was able to get it re-finance from a good bank. The bank told me that I had excellent credit and didn't know why FBC couldn't give me a better rate...but as you are about to hear...customer service is not their strong point...making the most on a sale is!
So after all their fees and such and it is sold and out the door, I go back in a few times to get a new visor for my helmet, some new gloves and the people there act like they don't even know who you are or the fact they may have sold you a bike, but yet they just spent 4 hours budding up to you and trying to sell it to you.
I got the 5 maintenance service pack added onto my purchase and every time I tried to make an appointment (3 times) they put me off until Sat. And then when I brought my bike in on sat morning they estimated that it would be done at noon...it wasn't done until 3 and I needed my bike that day.
Finally, I have called numerous times to follow up on the fact that my motorcycle tags have not been sent from the DMV, which I would assume FBC takes care of with all their added fees upon exiting. Still no response from FBC, still no tags 5 months later.
I took my bike in for servicing and two new tires. staff was friendly and service was complete by promised time. Great job the the new tires and bike is running great. Thanks and keep it up.
