My husband and I have twice received horrible treatment by the receptionist and waitors at Peohe's. The 2nd time we went there for lunch on a Sunday around 2 pm. Although the restaurant was not at all busy at that time, the receptionist made us wait for a long time to be seated. Without asking for our preference, the hostess lead us to an outdoor table, knowing that it was an extremely hot and humid day and there were at least 20+ empty tables inside. When we asked the hostess if we could take one of the empty tables inside, she told us to walk all the way back to the front and ask the receptionist. Unbelievably, after going through all the trouble to speak with the receptionist again, she told us with an atitude that we need to wait at least another 25 minutes. My husband and I did not even get an explanation as to why we had to wait that long when there were plenty of empty tables throughout the restaurant. It's as if they did not welcome us to dine there. So we ended up going to Il Fornaio next door and received great service, great food, and better oceanfront view than Peohe's. Thanks to the bad service at Peohe's, we discovered Il Fornaio, which offered a much better dining experience. If we go to north Coronado Island to dine in the future, we will definitely consider Il Fornaio and never Peohe's again.
A horrible experience!!! DO NOT EAT THERE unless you want to spend all night vomiting with diarrhea. My fiancee and I ate at Peohe's last night as we were considering having our wedding reception there. He had the lobster bisque, the crab-stuffed tilapia, and a glass of Buena Vista chardonnay. We split the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Within 45 minutes of us getting home, he started to feel queasy and his stomach started to rumble. He then proceeded to have VOLUMINOUS vomiting and diarrhea all night long. He had to call in sick today to work. I called Peohe's last night after the sickness started and spoke to an infuriating manager who basically stated that if no one else that night reported getting sick, then my fiancee must have gotten sick from something he ate YESTERDAY!! Never mind that he felt fine until we ate at Peohe's. Don't eat at this restaurant unless you like having vomiting and diarrhea all night.
The reason to go to Peohe's...there is no reason! The sad excuse would be if you were an unknowing unknowledgeable tourist. The quality of the food is so low grade.Peohe's has no standard of service.I had to listen to our servers tales of long hours and bad management. The reason we couldn't get silverware with food, coffee with dessert OR the correct bill total!Don't be duped AND don't go!!!
