The best meal I've ever had! That's what I kept telling my girlfriend, who took me here for my birthday last night.
The bread comes out hot with soft whipped butter. The salad (Try the Ruth's Chopped with Ranch instead) was crisp and fresh. The winelist was huge! (more on that later)
When our entrees came out, everything was piping hot, and amazing. I find that's hard for most restaurants to accomplish these days. And the steak was cooked perfectly. I ordered the filet medium and it was tender, juicy and amazing.
Here's a couple of tips if you want an amazing meal, but would like to save a bit. First of all, if you both like Filet mignon, order the larger one ($37 vs $33 for a petite), get two sides, and just split everything. I forced myself to eat my whole steak, and share two sides with my vegetarian girlfriend. I couldn't bear the thought of microwaving leftovers from such an amazing dinner, the next day. But, it was just too much food.
Also, if you love a great glass of red with your steak, listen up! I paid $18 a glass for two glasses of Franciscian Oakville Estate Merlot, 2004. They were selling the bottle for $70! Normally this is a $25 bottle of solid Napa Valley Merlot. But, after dinner, we saw it on sale at Vons for $15! So again, if you're sharing, bring a bottle of your favorite wine. Their corkage fee is $25 a bottle, so you could save a ton of money with a big party.
Another tip, if you let them know that you're celebrating a birthday, they'll offer you any one dessert on them. I thought that was pretty cool. The creme brulee was fantastic.
Over priced and WAY over rated. I can grill better steaks at home for a lot less money!!!!
I love steak,,,, but hit or miss here...nice eye candy,,top of the line wine,,,apps are filling,,,nice view
