Don't go if they're busy. They seat you, hand you a menu and leave you alone for 20 minutes. We, on the other hand, got up and left.
It's happened to us twice so far. Lunchtime is no problem.
Don't waste your time at the dinner hour unless you want to sit for hours.
The great thing about San Diego though, there's plenty more sushi restaurants nearby that don't treat people like they don't matter.
We won't be going back anytime soon!
Their food is just average anyway and not really worth waiting for either.
We eat sushi about three times a week and consider ourselves sushi snobs. The best sushi in San Diego is Ota Sushi hands down but for inland sushi, we would gladly go to Yummy Sushi. Very fresh fish and talented chiefs.
The staff is nice and friendly, but the sushi is not very good. I've been here twice with the same results. You can buy the same quality from your local grocery store. If you want to know what real sushi tastes like and I'd suggest the owners compare... go to UTC and try Cafe Japengo, Roys, or Edo. I believe the prices are comparable, but the quality is superior.
