Red Tomato & House of Lamb

Company Information: Those who love the distinctive flavor and healthful attributes of lamb are often left out, but this restaurant is determined to change that. Case in point: the Albanian Lamb shanks blend Middle Eastern flavors with Euroamerican tastes. The restaurant also offers plenty of mainstream Italian choices and what some have called "The Best Pizza in the Desert," receiving three and one-half stars from the Desert Sun newspaper. Try the "White Pizza" for a pale but delightful change from tomato-heavy versions. Dine inside or on the large, smoking-friendly patio, and enjoy cocktails from the bar.

   I have eaten at The Red Tomato & Original House of Lamb on several occasions. It has been consistently superb on each occasion. The amuse given at the beginning is original and very flavorful. Whatever I have ordered has been exactly as described in the menu and just as good as "momma used to make." The patrons are as diverse as California is and frequently converse with each other during the evening. I would highly recommend it to everyone, as a place where you can consistently good food,whether it be lamb or anything else on the menu.

   Hidden Treasure of Palm Springs: We were driving by and saw the sign "Red Tomato & House of Lamb". I knew this was the place to stop and eat. The food was so good. My daughter had a pasta dinner that was wonderful. I had the special which was a meat Loaf like I've never had. The meat loaf was seasoned with spices that made me think I was in heaven. We ate 2 more times in our 7 day stay. We were made welcome by the owner "Bill" each night. Like we were long lost sole mates. I would recommend "The Red Tomato" to everyone. That likes outstanding food at a medium price.
   We travel to 25 cities a year. My daughter Haley plays the National Junior Tennis circuit. This is the best experience of eating good food that we have ever had. You will love this place.
