Yum! We recently stayed in Rancho Mirage and tried several different restaurants in which we were very disappointed. Toward the end of our stay we tried Mama Gina and it was wonderful. My husband grew up in an Italian neighborhood near South Philly and is very picky about Italian food. The service was fantastic, we never had to ask for more bread or drinks and the waiter was very friendly. The food was fantastic. The canneloni is to die for! I highly recommend this restaurant.
I thought the service was good and the ambiance nice, but the food not so great. I appreciated how fresh everything was and it's authenticity but I really felt that if they laid off the salt a bit the other flavors would of stood out much more. I felt it was over priced for what I got. If ever in Nor Cal try Osteria and you would understand what I am talking about!
It Is authentic Italian food!!: The ambiance is magnificent â it is comfortable and elegant all at the same time. The service is prompt and friendly, but the food is authentic. We started with the fried zucchini, which was lightly battered and delicate. I had the Filet that was just mouth watering- it had a balsamic reduction sauce and was cooked to perfection.
