Thai Smile Business Overview

Edit Info

Company Information: This established Thai restaurant serves traditional spicy Thai dishes to a happy, desert clientele. The decor itself is spiced with bits and pieces of Thai art, but the greatest artistry is in the kitchen. An early-bird dinner special runs every evening from 4p-6:30p, offering a selection of dishes, which include soup or salad. The Red Mountain Shrimp is a fiery combination of shrimp with vegetables in a special sauce. Regular entree prices are very reasonable to moderate for the chef's seafood specials.

The service here is terrible. They won't seat you in a booth even if the restaurant is empty, the food portions at lunch are so small now you need a magnifying glass. The service has attitude, and the thai lady owner behind the counter - is always just busy counting her receipts and her money. I complained to her how bad the service was, and she didn't care. Being a Palm Springs local I will never eat there again. Plus I am tired of them raising the prices and making the portions smaller and smaller. Now they dropped the egg roll off the lunch menu. If you are going by yourself or with one other person forget about sitting at the booth. They will seat you in the crappy tables in the middle. I had to ask for water all the time, they never came around until they gave you the check. Don't go here awful!

8 years of going to Thai Smile in PS has been consistantly excellent. 3 days ago 2 of us were seated at a booth in front window and commented how generous the portions were. In 8 years the lunch special has only gone up one dollar. The place is spotless and service always friendly.

I am really surprised at some of the reviews here. I actually am from Los Angeles and went down to Palm Springs for the weekend. Myself and my wife both enjoyed the fried rice and the red curry dishes. We also had spring rolls for starters and that was awesome too. It is ofcourse not possible for every dish to be good in every restaurant..so try these dishes and you should enjoy your lunch or dinner.

used to think it was o.k. and convenient enough, until I had a horrible case of food poisoning. Will never go back.
