Maggio's Pizza

pizza is excellent. the spaghetti and meatballs tho aren't as nice. pasta was over cooked and meatballs tasted like cardboard.

I don't know just how long Maggio's has been around, but it is a long time favorite of BB locals and regulars.

Some general comments first. The service is always friendly and usually quick. The portions of food are ample (I can a lot, I've consumed the Big Juan burrito 6 times!) and the prices very reasonable. Sometimes when you go to a restaurant in a resort location you expect to be price gouged, but that isn't true here. The facility is rather small and you order pick up your food at the counter and take it back to your table. Take out is an excellent option! As of Oct., 2008 they are taking over the building next door and expanding their capacity. I trust the quality will not decline!

They make their own Italian sausage and my favorite is the Italian Sausage sub, though I have not found something I don't care for. Pizzas are excellent, 10, 12 & 16" and they have a huge selection of toppings. The antipasto salad with Italian dressing is great, a medium can even make a small meal for two! I would say their wines are fairly priced. (I think almost all food establishments WAY OVER CHARGE for wine.)

This is not a quiet romantic, dine in the corner Italian place, it is stick to ribs, fill you up with good food place. You will not be disappointed at Maggios.

As a long time local i know big bear this way and that,
and Maggios has been at the top of my list for a long time.
Maggios is one of the top restuarants in Big Bear, if not THE top restuarant. I recommend their Pastrami Sub and ALL of their pizzas!
