Not sure where the previous two editorial were written about. The Spunky Stear I went to seemed totally generic to me. The seating was substandard with torn vinyl seats. I would get past this but the food really was inferior. I had a steak that was not done to my order, full of fat and really tough. The steaks are not charbroiled but cooked on a flat grill, fried. My daughter did not even finish eating her hamburger as it was tough and the bread seemed stale. My wife's steak was also tough. If you want a really cheap steak this is the place, just be prepared that it is of inferior quality.

I think this place is hit or miss. I've been either 2 or 3 times. Things came out good on the 1st visit and the conclusion was that this is a good and cheap place to eat steak. However on the last visit my medium-rare steak was actually served refrigerator-cold-raw on the inside with a bit of brown on the outside. The server was completely unapologetic for what in my opinion is a mortal sin for a 'steakhouse'. I sent it back and rather than deliver a new one cooked properly the returned the same chunk of meat re-heated and now way-overcooked. Needless to say we've never been back. Your milage may vary.

Oh, I should add that was a couple of years ago so it may be really bad now, who knows?

Simply The Best!: I've been going to this restaurant for years. It's the very best one Redlands has to offer, and there are plenty of them there. Their food is properly prepared and wonderful. The service is first rate. Parking is good and the restaurant is handicapped accessible. Don't wait until late in the evening or you'll have a long line to wait in and they don't take reservations. This restaurant serves great American food. Value is excellent, too.
