User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI have given Hermosa two chances , one in 1995 and most resent 2008 (and that is with the new staff) the service is the same BAD, they are the most uncaring cemetery I have ever dealt with. I have lived here since 1954 and I have family members buried there. that was the resaon I first used them, first time I had a run in with the City Clerk of Colton which thank god has retired. The second was with the current general Manager of Hermosa . Rude is being nice. Think twice about this cemetery. I do not think they are cheaper either, Mt View is a caring cemetery . I will never bury another person at Hermosa Cemetery.

Do not EVER go to this cemetary. The pictures on the web are nice. But when you see the place it's creepy looking like and old plantation...dirty water fountain...graffiti on the back wall...non-compassionate staff...booked me for a funeral at 10 am and after I drove 70 miles to get there they told me 10 was not available due to their error in the calendar. They refused to correct this so many of my family members who sent flowers or flew here lost money. Do NOT use this cemetary. The person I dealt with is named Ruth...very rude woman.

Angela First of all I am sorry for your loss. I am with you except for a couple of items that you need to know The City of Colton owns the Cemetary The hired Inland Memorial is who runs it. But good luck getting anything from them either. You need to write a letter to the city of Colton complaining about this I must warn you they will do nothing except tell you how sorry they are and that is it. You might get a call from the city manager but do not count on it
Wow we just made arraigements and i do remember that one named ruth , and yes she's either rude or just unprofessionally incompetent. Yes , this cemetary is much Cheaper in price as apposed to other cemetaries but like they say you get what you pay for. We know that now first hand. Mt view cemetary is much pricier, but they are professional , and way way more sympathetic to your needs. We only made arraingements here at hermosa as that is what our loved one requested. But all in all, id rather pay tooth and nail than have to deal with uncaring, unprofessional staff as these. They made us feel as if we were just another client no big deal. At mt view they make you feel as if you are family. Their hours of operation are another problem. They are there from MOnday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 !! Not on weekends !! So inconvienant. If your loved one passes & you want to make arraingements on the weekend forget it. Mt view is there for your needs Monday- Sunday. A big plus in my book !
I'm sorry that your experience with this cemetery was not the greatest. I am in my late 30's and have been visiting this particular cemetery nearly every Saturday since I was a toddler. My family has been buried there since the late 1800's. In the past, I will be honest, my experience wasn't always superior. However, more recently, there has been a turnover of staff that truly do care. Please give Hermosa, and the new management, another chance. It is a fabulous cemetery, with a great deal of history.
