   A Beautiful Resort...Poorly Designed: Like other Outdoor Resorts, Rancho California offers all the amenities in first class surroundings. The weather in this "high desert" of California is as close to perfect as you will ever find. But the resort designer must have graduated from a "mail order" design school as the layout is less than desirable. Unlike most Outdoor Resorts, Rancho allows all RVs including fifth-wheels and travel trailers. And all the sites are "back in", meaning your motorcoach is backed up to the golf course and lovely waterfalls and your view is of the front of your neighbor's coach (or travel trailer) instead of the lovely surroundings. Back in sites are fine for fifth-wheels which normally have large viewing areas to the rear but not acceptable to motorcoaches. Fifth-wheels and travel trailers should be segregated from the motorcoaches with "pull-in" sites for the coaches and "back-in" for all others. Add to that, with all the amentities there is no wi-fi throughout the resort; you must come to the clubhouse to log on to the Internet. But the people are friendly, the weather is perfect so I'll sum up with "It's a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live here".
