| About: | This fine restaurant serves fresh, award-winning Californian cuisine. It has won the gold medal from the American Restaurant Association. The city of Irvine named it Irvine's Most Romantic Restaurant. Gorgeous hardwood floors set the stage for a beautfiful, Carribean-inspired decor, with saltwater aquariums inside and gorgeous views overlooking the lake from the patio outside.Menu favorites include the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, Grilled Cheesesteak, Rack of Lamb or Fresh Halibut. For something truly decadent try the Rib Eye Steak or New York Strip Steak. The pastas are prepared with lots of flavor and are served al dente. Try the Chicken Conchigli, Cheese and Spinach Ravioli or Angel Hair Pasta with Lobster. The wine list is excellent, with bottles ranging from inexpensive to moderate. |

User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsDisappointed in every way. Not sure why this place has a rating higher than 1 star...Looks like majority of raving reviews are from years ago probably under different managment.
My wife and I eat out often and look for new experiences to enjoy, this was awful. Whoever is managing the place has clearly fallen asleep at the wheel.
Overpriced, unclean, unfriendly staff, extremely limited menu, bad music. Dropped $55 for a salty ommlette, soggy french toast, and frozen chicken fingers for our daughter. "Fresh" was not ripe at all. STAY AWAY FROM THE SUNDAY BRUNCH!
The Lake view would be a nice touch if they would do something about the dirty patio section and the mosquito breeding issue. Spent half our time swatting at bugs!
Feel bad for leaving such a detailed review, but if the management and staff don't care about their place...Why should I?
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe place has a great deal of ambiance. To be honest though, I wasn't very impressed. (Neither was my bf) The menu dosen't have a lot of depth. So many restaurants in the area have more to choose from- with better choices for that matter. Service is not great. I used to be a server so I actually have a lot of patience normally and always leave 20%... but lets just say I had no problem leave 15% (which is hard for me)! (& its pretty much my bare min.) The food we did get didn't seem fresh & mine must have sat in under the heat lamp drying out while waiting for his. (Another aspect I recognize from being a server)- however... it wasn't busy at the time... so it was completely unacceptable!
I'd recommend going to MaMA D's in Newport Beach instead.... that place is AMAZING!-

GREAT LOCATION! In town for business and was looking for a local "diamond". I found it on yahoo.
Sit on the patio, it is on the water and makes for a great view. The food was a little better then average and the price was reasonable. It appeared to be a slow night. The service was QUICK and GREAT! The bar looked like a nice hang out.
