I purchased a Kathy Von Zeeland bag earlier in the year. Within a matter of weeks, the inseams of the pouches began to tear and frey. I contacted the manufacturer, who explained that they were only a whole saler and I should return the bag to where I bought it and exchange it. I finally had the time to do so and went to the Macy's at SCP. I was directed to the manager of the accessories area. I explained that I did not keep the receipt of my purchase (it's a purse, not a microwave after all) and that I had paid with my debit card. She proceeded to tell me that the purse was no longer being sold in the store and that unless I had paid with a Macy's card, the transaction could not been researched, and that Macy's has a 180 day return policy. I accepted this, and decided that I would shop for another purse- no one offered to help me at this point. During my search, a grey bag caught my eye from Kathy Von Zeeland. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was the same as mine. I looked over all of the purses on the same shelves to find several other colors, including black- the very same as my purse, and the same purse the manager had just said they no longer carried. I pointed this out to the CSR, who then went to the manager to tell her. The CSR returned stating that acording to the manager, I still could not exchange or return the bag and that I should contact the manufacturer, which I have already done.
In my years as a consumer, I cannot remember the last time I have felt so neglected and brushed off. I would hate to think that it was because I was not dressed my best, but instead prefer to think that the manager of this department was having an off day. After a small amount of calculating, I realized immediately that I am still within my 180 days of purchase and I would hope that a store as large as Macy's would stand behind their merchandise, as well as the satisfaction of their customers. For the forseeable future, I will not be returning to this Macy's or any other. As the old saying goes, treat a customer right and they will return 10 fold. Mistreat one, and you can bet that it will be mentioned to at least 10 others consumers. I'm already at 5 and my day has just started.
I went there with my sister return a business suit in the junior dept,i was shock by one of there salesperson she was rude and disrespectful to me as customer i had all my tags, and receipt .she goes if this even ours ,when it's clearly a brand they carry the suits were hanging up .i think her name was arceley or something .don't go her she so rude .she then ask around if she could return my suit and look at me like i was shady and she look me up and down i could believe it.that dept is out control there none monitoring it.i will never shop there again after my nasty experience.
