I went to this restaurant recently with a friend. The food was good. The portion size was on the large size. I liked the cheese dip (queso)? The best part of the meal was the service. The waiter was very attentive, we received several baskets of tortilla chips and salsa. The waiter was quick to refill beverages as well and was good at clearing the table without being in the way.
The restauarant is located just down the street from where my friend lives and so it was a good choice for Mexican that night.
The best part of the evening was that I had left my cell phone on the seat next to me. As my friend and I walked across the parking lot to a nearby store, the waiter came running to catch up to us and gave me my phone back! I was truly grateful and that immediately told me that I would be back often to Don Ramon's! Thanks to that waiter and to the staff at this place!
Sincerely,
Jon

Our family has been coming here for over 15 years. It was under a different name (can't remember), but changed to Don Ramon's about ten years ago...maybe less (my memory fails me). Okay, it's "generic" Mexican food with the usual plates and combos, but the service is excellent. Plus, you can't forget about the bean dip that is a carry-over from the original owners. We typically order the same items. Some of the best "whole beans" frijoles in OC, and the menudo on Sunday is very good. Carnitas are meaty, but our family loves the enchiladas suizas and fajitas. Again, it's family here, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Good prices, clean, and never fails to satisfy.
Decent standard fare as Mexican food is concerned: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, seafood dishes, etc. Everything is o.k., but nothing is truly original or great. Service and value are good.
