Time Out Tavern & Night Club

Negatives:

-If you are a 20 something old you may not like this place because it has an older crowd (mostly mid-30s to 40+ yr. olds).

-Takes FOREVER to get served at the bar unless you wave money in the bartenders' faces acting like you're going to tip them well. The lines are ridiculous. Plan on spending up to 12 min or longer on some nights while other people elbow and mean-mug you fighting for who's next in line.

-Closes at 1:30 A.M. instead of 2:00 A.M.

-That nice leather furniture on the outer edges of the dance floor are for VIP only which means you have to pay for them and not anybody can use them which is really lame.

-Security guards act like thugs and waste time policing the good patrons (like telling you where you can and can't put your drink).

-Lots of strange couples there (like ugly rich guys with supermodel dates who are just using them for their money). Funny how you can spot them instantaneously.

-Many cliques here who aren't friendly to new people.

-Wannabe tough guys with tattoos and criminal records come in for the UFC fights on Saturdays when they host them.

-People smoke joints (marijuana cigarettes for those who don't know) on the outdoor/patio area. That smell is unmistakable. But if you use drugs then maybe this isn't a bad thing and you can ask someone for a puff?

-All the crime that occurs here brings down the otherwise safe and good image of the city of Aliso Viejo.

PROS:

-Cover on UFC nights is reasonable at $10 and when the fight is over you get to stay in the club until they close for no extra charge (compare at $50 for buying the UFC pay-per-view at home).

-It is filled with MILFs which can be kinda cool if you're 33 or older. Although, not all MILVes (MILFs?) there are attractive.

-Reasonably priced pool games at $3 a game (or $5 for two).

-Lots of sheriffs; this is a good thing because you have tattooed felons and shady people frequenting this establishment. Also, the parking lots behind the building have been frequented by drug users and rapists so don't park, walk through, or hang out there!

-Small and crowded, but nice dance floor.

-Great music accompanied by the corresponding music video played overhead, but it's pretty much only hip-hop so if that's not your kind of music this is a negative.


OK, so that's my thorough, even-handed review. Go there a few times and discover these things yourself if you don't believe me.

the staff is not very friendly, The bartender chick was a total biotch!!! Too bad, I kind of liked the place.

This place used to be really cool. But it is not a safe place to be anymore. One of the bouncers had his throat slit on New Years a few years back. He died.

For awhile it has been attracting a dangerous, unclassy crowd. There is alot of illegal drug use in the parking lot. I heard of girls being raped after hours in the parking lot. Alot of the patrons are fans of UFC and are eager to get into fights. This place is seriously out of control and does not represent the kind of establishment most Southern OC'ers are looking for. It attracts a dangerous immature crowd. TIME OUT TAVERN SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN. The OWNER is an IRANIAN IMMIGRANT named HD that doesn't care about how he is ruining Aliso Viejo because he profits from the place.

I went there a couple months ago. Business has been down recently because word is getting out about how messed up the place and owner is. There was a strange crowd there that night, I came to learn from some of the patrons that a prostitution, "dating" website was holding a "meet-in-person night out". An aquaintance of mine was dancing with a girl all night, she later solicited herself for 100 and hour.

The owner is selfish and looking after his own interest. People who care about South OC and have a conscience would refrain from patronizing this place and encourage others to as well.

Laguna Beach, i.e. Ocean's Brewery, Hennesseys, White House, Club M are very close by and Ocean's is only 5 dollar cover, and Hennessys is free. Laguna is a classy cool place with a more mainstream, trendy, civil crowd. Laguna Beach is a better option than Time Out Tavern.
