I was sent to St. Edna's 48 hours after a knee revision surgery. My experience was awful there. I was put in a room with 2 other patients. One was mentally challenged and there were feces all over the bathroom. A nurse put ointment in the one of the ladies eyes and missed the garbage can with the gloves and there they laid. They had me shower and very negligently covered my wound and the dressing was saturated. This was against my doctors orders. I am now on my 6th day in the hospital for treatment of an infection. I have no doubt this is where it initiated. Four days post op a nurses aid thought he should remove a staple from the incision. I vehemently refused to allow him to do so and took the staple remover away from him demanding to see a doctor. I was told he had no right to do that w/o a written order from a doctor. I do NOT recommend this facility!
