I think some of the reviewer's judgement of the food may be clouded by their nostalgic memories. Sure it's got a decent, cozy atmosphere, though it gets quite loud and difficult to carry on a conversation at your own table. The service is good and wait staff is knowleadgeable, friendly, and competent. The food IS good for what it is: basic, homestyle, old school Italian. Spaghetti, meatballs, ravioli, lasagna. Marinara. Alfedo. You won't find any farfalle or penne putanesca as you would at say Capricio's or Cafe Fiore. If you're into really BIG, basic Italian, this is the place to go. If you're looking for something with a little more variety and potentially more health oriented, try Capricio's or Fiore.

My parents raised me on Ferrero's and now my husband and I are doing the same with our kids. There is only one resturant to eat at if you want GREAT ITALIAN food and that's FERRERO'S.

I'v been going here for as long as i can remember. I have just turned 30 and can vividly remember going there as a family on special occasions. and i now go with my own family and they still have the big stuffed animal (purple hippopotamus. i think ? ) And after our done eating if you r lucky enough to be young and willing to stick your arm down into the hippos mouth, you get the silly little laughs and some candy. I guess that just one of those things you'll always remember and at least for me carry on to other generations.
But as an adult and having gone through to pregnancies. I was abel to try out allot of different items on the menu. my all time favorite and probably my whole families also ( a total of 20-30 give or take) would defiantly be the Sam's dinner salad. so delicious. (i do it with-ought the pepercheenies, but some love them). and i go with Italian dressing/ that in itself is tech-niklie probably enough for a whole meal. but i done think iI have ever stopped there. then i'd say my favorite main entree is shrimp scampi. so so yummy. we'll there u go .
treat yourself and make it a tradition if not already one. its great food, atmosphere, and just all around good times.
